LEAVING OF LIVERPOOL

ok heres The Leaving of Liverpool. I'll add more info later...

SHADY GROVE

Greetings,

Well I new to this thing called blog. I figure I start off by posting songs, and I've done at an earlier point in this timeline. All of these songs are being hosted by www.ezfolk.com .it is a great site, but they have a strict policy on hosting copyrighted material. Which sucks, because I like to tweak out songs that I like and I lothe.

the first song that I will post is a little ditty called Shady Grove Murder. I learned it from the folks at ezfolk.com. Every few months or so, and they all get together and do many different versions of the same public domain song. It is a rather fun. I changed the lyrics in the general theme of the song to suit my deranged thoughts in poetry. The song was also the first recording I did at home with multiple tracks that didn't sound like complete crap.

Well thanks for listening, more will be more coming.

Uke til you puke!

Shad

.....afterthought
I think i will also post the chords to the songs i do.

shady grove
traditional lyrics

Dm]Peaches in the [C]summertime
[Dm]Apples in the fall
If [F]I can't get the [C]girl I love
I don't want none at [Dm]all

[Dm]Shady Grove, [C]my little love
[Dm]Shady Grove, I know
[F]Shady Grove, [C]my little love
I'm bound for Shady [Dm]Grove

Wish I had a banjo string
Made of golden twine
Every tune I'd play on it
I wish that girl was mine

Wish I had a needle and thread
Fine as I could sew
I'd sew that pretty girl to my side
And down the road I'd go

Some come here to fiddle and dance
Some come here to tarry
Some here to fiddle and dance
I come here to marry

Every night when I go home
My wife, I try to please her
The more I try, the worse she gets
Damned if I don't leave her
